Software architect Jason Christensen will deliver the presentation "Combining
REST and Context for Killer iPhone Apps Audience" at SYS-CON's iPhone
Developer Summit 2009 East (co-located with AJAXWorld RIA Conference & Expo)
in New York City this coming June 22-23, 2009.
With the advent of the multimodal nature of iPhone, it is possible to be
connected anywhere and everywhere. But did you know that it's possible for
your iPhone to provide context to RESTFUL web services to create the next
generation of killer applications? In this session Christensen will take a
detailed look at using web services, cloud computing, and the sensors on the
iPhone to create applications that exceed what could previously be achieved
on mobile devices. With this architecture, the sky is truly the limit on the
capabilities provided to application users.
In this vein, Christensen will disc... (more)
I have been working on this concept of Modern Mobile Architectures for about
two years now. Modern Mobile Architectures are architectures that support
mobile device applications connected to decentralized infrastructure. Modern
Mobile Architectures combine mobile technology and cloud computing.
We have clients who do not have a web server or internal infrastructure, but
who connect smart mobile devices to the cloud and then leverage the
cloud-based information as a product. This is one of the most exciting
changes I have seen in computing in my lifetime.
The biggest challenge in ... (more)
